Hello,

Blache Yong & Co. is looking for a front-end development intern to join its team! Working in tandem with our lead developer, the intern will have the opportunity to develop websites and applications imagined by a crew of designers obsessed with attention to detail.

We offer a structured, paid internship at a rate of $25 per hour. The internship lasts between 4 and 8 weeks and requires a commitment of 3 days per week. It takes place in a stimulating environment that fosters learning and professional development.

Internship Objective
Assist the front-end development team in creating and improving user interfaces to deliver a smooth and engaging user experience.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Development and Integration:

• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of web pages and front-end applications
• Convert mockups and designs into functional HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Implement interactive and dynamic elements using modern libraries and frameworks (for example, React or Vue.js)

2. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with UX/UI designers and project leads to understand project requirements and specifications
• Participate in internal team meetings

3. Optimization and Performance:

• Contribute to optimizing web application performance by reducing load times and improving responsiveness
• Conduct compatibility testing across different browsers and devices to ensure a consistent user experience

4. Maintenance and Support:

• Resolve bugs and issues reported by users or team members
• Update content and features according to project needs

5. Learning and Development:

• Participate in internal training sessions and code reviews to improve technical and professional skills
• Stay up to date with front-end development trends and best practices

Requirements:

• Student in computer science, web development, or a related field
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Knowledge of Figma (used as a collaborative tool within the team)
  Familiarity with front-end development tools (for example, Git, npm, Webpack)
• Ability to develop using various JavaScript libraries (Vue.js, React, etc.)
• Knowledge of responsive design principles and performance optimization techniques
• Bilingualism in French and English (written and spoken) required.

Blache Yong & Co is seeking a UI Designer to join its studio of passionate, multidisciplinary designers. As part of the team, you will actively collaborate on the design and evolution of diverse digital projects, from ideation through to final delivery.

Your Role
Concretely, you will:

• Imagine and design digital experience concepts for mobile, desktop, tablet, TV, or other interactive platforms.
• Develop coherent and scalable design systems tailored to user and client needs.
• Produce and adapt interface mockups and animated prototypes aligned with defined concepts and required deliverables.
• Create a variety of visual assets such as images, isometric illustrations, icons, animations, short edits, or videos.
• Document design specifications and visual standards to ensure long-term consistency and facilitate collaboration.
• Participate in quality control of deliverables from a design perspective, ensuring consistency and high levels of polish.
• Collaborate with a wide range of professionals including UX experts, developers, business analysts, and product managers throughout projects.
• Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with team members and clients.
• Provide constructive feedback and welcome feedback from others in a spirit of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Estimate the time required for assigned tasks and, when needed, contribute to overall project estimations.
• Stay up to date with new tools, trends, and best practices in design, including AI, and integrate them into your work.
• Freely share your design inspirations with the team to foster learning and exchange.

Your Profile
Ideally, you have:

• 2+ years of experience in UI design (agency, freelance, or in-house)
• Relevant education in interface design or a related field
• Experience designing websites, mobile applications, or custom digital products
• Strong proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Suite
• A solid understanding of WCAG 2 accessibility standards and the ability to apply them
• Familiarity with AI tools in a creative context and motivation to integrate them into your professional practice
• The ability to communicate clearly in both French and English
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and rigor
• Strategic curiosity and a desire to collaborate to move ideas forward
